This Privacy Policy explains how Linkify (“we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (the “Platform”).
By using Linkify, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
1. Overview
We value your privacy. Linkify collects limited personal data to operate our services, provide analytics to creators, and improve the platform. We do not sell personal information, and we only share data with trusted partners necessary to provide our services (for example, payment processors or infrastructure providers).
This policy applies to both:
- Creators who use Linkify to build pages, forms, and newsletters.
- Visitors who view or interact with a creator’s Linkify page.
2. Data We Collect
A. Visitor Data
When you visit a Linkify page, we collect certain technical and analytics information to understand usage and performance:
analytics_visitor_idcookie — a pseudonymous ID stored in a signed cookie (1-year lifetime). If missing, we derive it from a hash of your IP address and user agent and persist it in the cookie.- Visitor record fields — we store:
- Pseudonymous
visitor_id - First seen / last seen timestamps
- Current IP address and user agent
- Referrer and UTM source data (captured in
first_attributionandlast_attributionsnapshots) - Landing path and timestamps
These records allow creators to see metrics such as total views, returning visitors, and referral sources.
B. Analytics Events
We record anonymized events to understand how visitors interact with creator pages and forms:
| Event Type | Data Captured | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Page View | Page ID, visitor ID, request path, referrer, IP, user agent, attribution snapshot | Measure page traffic |
| Link Click | Page ID, visitor ID, link ID, original link URL, page path | Track engagement with specific links |
| Form View | Form ID, visitor ID, path, IP, referrer, attribution snapshot | Measure form visibility |
| Form Submission | Page/form IDs, visitor metadata, attribution snapshot, form input data (for example, name, email, message) | Deliver submissions to creators |
| Page Subscription | Page ID, visitor metadata, email and name, subscription source | Manage newsletter or opt-in lists |
All analytics events are associated with a pseudonymous visitor ID, not a real-world identity.
C. Supporting Tables
We maintain analytics_link_archives, which store historical link titles and URLs for accurate click reporting, independent of browser metadata.
3. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember analytics consent decisions (
analytics_consent) - Maintain pseudonymous visitor identifiers (
analytics_visitor_id) - Collect aggregated metrics for creators
Cookie lifetimes:
analytics_consent- Granted — stored for 1 year
- Denied — stored for 30 days
analytics_visitor_id— 1 year
Tracking only occurs if allowed under your local privacy settings or upon explicit consent.
4. Consent and Controls
Analytics tracking is gated by the analytics_tracking_allowed? check. You can configure Linkify to require:
- Explicit consent from all visitors, or
- Consent only from visitors in specific countries (based on the
ANALYTICS_COUNTRY_HEADERconfiguration).
Visitors can change or withdraw consent at any time. Their decision is stored in a signed consent cookie and applied consistently across tracking requests.
5. Data Use
We use analytics data to:
- Provide creators with aggregated insights (views, clicks, submissions, conversions)
- Improve product performance, design, and reliability
- Prevent spam, abuse, and fraud
Creators see only aggregated metrics, such as:
- Total page views, visitors, link clicks, form submissions, and subscription counts
- Engagement insights joined with archived link data for historical accuracy
Raw personal data (for example, IP addresses or full submission payloads) is not exposed directly to creators, except when a visitor intentionally submits it (for example, through a form or subscription field).
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal data.
We may share limited data with:
- Service providers — for hosting, analytics, storage, and payment processing.
- Legal authorities — if required to comply with law, prevent fraud, or protect rights.
All providers are bound by confidentiality and data processing agreements.
7. Data Retention
- Analytics visitor records are stored for up to 1 year from last activity.
- Aggregated analytics (counts and trends) are retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.
- Form submissions and subscriptions are retained as long as the creator’s account remains active or until deleted.
You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 10).
8. International Data Transfers
We may process data in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure or partners operate. We follow industry-standard safeguards (including encryption and contractual clauses) to protect data transferred across borders.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Access or download your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to processing or withdraw consent
- File a complaint with your local data authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at [privacy@linkify.so].
10. Data Security
We use encryption, signed cookies, and restricted database access to protect your data. While no system is completely secure, we continuously monitor and update our security practices.
11. Children’s Privacy
Linkify is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and notify users when required by law.
